If only we could all have an on-call professional web design company to take our hopes and dreams to fruition. Of course, everyone can have this if you know who to call on for your custom web design needs. The good people at Baptist Women in Ministry, based in Atlanta, Georgia, knew this when they first came to Stone Soup a few years ago for their first professional website. They were so pleased that they came back again when they had a vision of giving their website a newer, fresher look to go with the new direction of the organization. They called on Stone Soup to make those dreams a reality. In addition to wanting a new look, they also were looking for something that would be easy to manage in-house. Our solution to meet their budget and their level of experience was a website built entirely around WordPress, a popular blogging engine. We used WordPress as the content management system for changes to all pages, and for the actual blog. Were they pleased with the outcome? Take a look at their new site and we’ll let you take a guess. (And if you give up – Yes, they love their new website!)

Griffin, GA, January 3, 2010: Atlanta-based Stone Soup Technology recently completed the development of a custom handheld-device inventory control application for a Williams-Sonoma distribution center. The client needed an inventory-control solution that would run on a Motorola MC75 which uses the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. The end-user is a warehouse staff member who is responsible for scanning in all contents of a trailer with the Motorola MC75 before items are placed on the shelves to be pulled for order fulfillment.

The application allows for precise documentation of the contents of the trailer by standardizing trailer number, date format and carton identification numbers, offering several built-in safeguards against duplicate numbering and sessions, and exporting all data to either a Microsoft Excel or CSV file.

Griffin, GA, December 31, 2009: Bradley Kirkland, President of Stone Soup Technology (SST), has hired Melanie Feltman as director of the company’s sales and marketing department. Feltman brings with her a wealth of experience in consultative sales and will work with all potential and current clients in their online strategy development.

As publisher of Scoop Magazine, a regional general interest magazine, she developed effective branding and marketing campaigns for a number of the magazine’s advertisers. She is a strong advocate of design and information architecture as the most powerful tool in a company’s marketing arsenal; she believes online and viral marketing is not only the most affordable strategy, but the most effective as well.

“It’s important for clients to understand that outsourcing the online strategy to professionals is vital to the credibility of their business,” says Feltman. “A truly professional online presence is the best investment a company can make and has an unmatched return on investment. It’s time to stop thinking of a website as simply a means of advertising, but of streamlining business operations to save valuable time, which translates into bottom line dollars.”

Stone Soup Technology is based in Atlanta with a satellite office in New York. SST develops custom websites, software, and web applications for any type of business, but is becoming increasingly known for its work in the medical field, specifically for physicians in private practice. Prior to her four-year stint in the field of publishing, Feltman spent six years in medical sales and marketing.
